World Cares Center and PBV sign partnership to continue joint international disaster relief efforts
October 18, 2013
On 2 October 2013, New York-based NPO
World Cares Center (WCC) and PBV signed a partnership agreement to strengthen international disaster relief efforts.
WCC’s Executive Director and Founder, Lisa Orloff and PBV’s President, Takashi Yamamoto, signed the agreement formalizing the partnership that began with disaster relief efforts after
Hurricane Sandy which devastated New York and much of the East Coast in late October 2012.
The partnership will gather lessons learned from previous disasters and responses then build and conduct training programmes that will further improve joint relief efforts in the U.S.A. and Japan.
Strengthening the capability and capacity of community and volunteer organisations through improving the coordination of volunteers is a shared value of WCC and PBV and we look forward to our continued work in building disaster resilient communities.
