Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) has caused severe loss of life and extensive damage in the Philippines in recent days.
The true scale and extent of this disaster is still unclear. However, according to numerous sources, the number of casualties is expected to be in the thousands, large numbers of people have been displaced and many survivors are living in extremely harsh conditions with insufficient resources.
We would like to express our heartfelt solidarity and support with all of those affected by this disaster across the Philippines.
Peace Boat Disaster Relief Volunteer Center (PBV) is dispatching an advanced team to the affected areas to conduct an initial assessment and to strengthen ties with local Non-Governmental Organisations.
After liaising with local partners and assessing the situation on the ground, PBV will provide relief based on the most urgent needs of the affected communities.
We are calling for donations to assist those affected across the Philippines by Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda).
