Living in Japan, one of the most disaster-prone countries in the world, disaster preparedness is essential.
We aim to engage, educate and empower a wide range of people to protect themselves and help others in the wake of disasters.
We believe that the 2 million foreign residents and other diverse citizens living in Japan should be fully prepared and can have a major, positive impact on the civil response in the aftermath of a disaster.
PBV is offering this course (free-of-charge) to anyone interested in the above topics, regardless of experience or knowledge in these areas. This is an introductory course and offers an overview of how to protect yourself and your loved ones, how to help others in times of disaster and how to prepare for future disasters.
The course serves as an introduction to disaster prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery, providing participants with a firm grounding in theoretical and practical disaster relief knowledge and skills which can be applied in real-life situations.
